Brummells of London is a journal devoted to the craft of grooming, the pleasure of fragrance, and the quiet art of living well.
We take our name — and our spirit — from George "Beau" Brummell, the Regency figure who reinvented what it meant for a man to be well turned out. Long before the modern grooming industry existed, Brummell championed the daily bath, the perfectly tied cravat and the radical notion that true elegance lies in restraint rather than excess. His influence outlived him by two centuries, and it lives on in these pages.
What We Do
We journey the far corners of the world, and back into our own heritage, to discover the products, rituals and ideas worth knowing about. We then review, curate and write about them plainly — so that you can sit back, read, and take from it what serves you.
We are not interested in fashion for its own sake, or in the endless churn of trends. We are interested in what lasts: a good shave, a scent that becomes part of you, habits that make an ordinary day feel considered.
Our Promise
Everything we publish is written to be genuinely useful. We favour the timeless over the fashionable, substance over noise, and the reader's interest above all. Whether you have arrived here to learn the traditional wet shave, to find your signature scent, or simply to spend a few minutes in good company, you are most welcome.
"To be truly elegant one should not be noticed." — attributed to Beau Brummell
